Remarks & Notes

This is the last Christmas day the old Chicago & Alton Depot will see as its days are numbered just weeks before being torn down. Now it has been reduced to a pile of rubble after efforts have failed to preserve the structure that has stood here for more than 100 years. This is to make way for a UP track alignment project that will be more conducive for high speed rail between Chicago to Saint Louis.
