Double-Ender? Members of the Nevada Northern Railway Museum Crew appear to be in the process of making up a double-ended passenger train, as the venerable #40 backs in to make the hitch with the "Steptoe Flyer" consist. In fact, the big Consolidation #93 on the other end is just being used as a yard switcher and will shortly cut off, leaving #40 as the power for this little train. On this particular morning, both engines emerged from the engine house facing north. In order to expedite the departure of the Keystone-bound passenger train, Locomotive #93 was used to extract the passenger consist from the nearby RIP building, while #40 was being wyed to face south. The 93 then held the passenger consist as the 40 coupled up. In the brief seconds before the 93 cut off, the resulting train was an odd lash-up to say the least.
