| I mentioned before that there are some images that I see in my mind's eye before the opportunity to take them arises. Only a few years ago, this view would have fallen into the 'almost impossible' category - why? Because the vantage point (Keighley Signal Box) is normally 'off limits' and furthermore it requires a very, VERY wide angle lens to include the entire 1884-built turntable! If we then add into the mix an 1888-built locomotive, the engineering history in this view amounts to over 250 years! Please then forgive the slight distortion to the extreme edges of this rather unique image. This may be a 'first'. |
