Tied down at Bannon waiting for the arrival of Portsmouth crew, NS's "Lehigh Valley" heritage engine leads coal loads east under the ID of NS 776. The train is destined for Roanoke and points east along the former N&W main. NS 8104 was released on April 23rd, 2012 from Norfolk Southern's Altoona Shops in Pennsylvania. The locomotive was the 8th locomotive to be released in a heritage paint scheme as part of the 30th anniversary of Norfolk Southern. Photo taken with permission. |
