Remarks & Notes |
American Orient Express is in the siding at Imbleu, Ariz. on the Grand Canyon Ry. to meet its regular southbound train returning from the Grand Canyon on May 30, 2004. Much has changed since then --- ex-LS&I 2-8-0 No. 29 no longer operates (only their 2-8-2 4960 runs occasionally on vegetable oil) but the Alco FA's survive. The AOE (and successor GrandLuxe) ceased operations in bankruptcy in Aug. 2008. The two full-length Budd dome cars of AOE wound up on the Grand Canyon Ry. They're not in daily service yet. |
