Remarks & Notes
Pictured in a state of disrepair at UP North Yard in Salt Lake City, Sacramento Northern GP7 #712 awaits an uncertain future. SN 712 was the last former WP unit still in WP paint to operate on home rails. By January 1985 (when pictured) one couldn't help but agree with the message scrawled along the frame. As a matter of fact, it nearly did turn yellow. It was slated to be painted and renumbered the UP 114, but ended up being retired in March 1985. By July, it would be donated by UP to the Western Railway Museum at Rio Vista Junction, California.
