| RF&P's Acca Yard and Bryan Park Terminal could be a lonely place on Christmas Day in the 1980's. Basically, all freight operations were curtailed and the only trains running were the Amtrak passenger trains. Such was the case in 1988. I had just finished working the 12-8 shift as the RF&P train dispatcher and decided to head over to Bryan Park Terminal for a few shots in the early morning light. I had the place to myself. At that time, the dispatcher was the only employee on duty in Richmond on Christmas Day. Inbound power had backed up on the lead awaiting servicing when operations resumed. GP40-2 No. 141 had arrived on Christmas Eve with a southbound freight. |
