Norfolk Southern ES44AC #8025 was freshly painted and moved outside the paint shop early in the morning of June 16, 2012 before the sun and most folks were even thinking about watching trains. We drove all night to get into Chattanooga for some night time and then early sunrise photos with Casey Thomason.
While Casey was waiting for the sun to rise and clouds to clear I thought I would open the engine compartment doors for a new view of this early production NS ES44AC. The MGA is the only NS Heritage unit that was originally delivered in traditional NS paint and then repainted by Bob and his crew at the NS Chattanooga Paint Shop.
As always, special thanks to the NS Chattanooga Paint Shop, Norfolk Southern, Casey, and thanks to Andrew Fletcher for dreaming up the concept and putting his ideas to paper.
Brass models will be available from Overland Models.
An exclamation attributed to TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, it is this eponymous expression of which certain images convey man and machine versus nature . . .
