Passing through the town of Thurmond on its second to last excursion of 2012, the New River Train and its consist of three P42DC's and 29 passenger cars passes the historic structures, and under the vintage C&O cantilever signal, slated for replacement in 2013. New signal foundations have been stationed at Thurmond, evident of the upcoming changes.
