Remarks & Notes
Transnet Pipelines has a terminal loading facility (out of sight behind this train) at Tarlton on the Krugersdorp - Mafikeng line, from where rail tankers are loaded and dispatched almost daily to the neighbouring land-locked country of Botswana. Still wearing its original SAR red with yellow striping, 34-121 leads blue 34-087 as they depart westbound to Mafikeng with their train of 18 loaded fuel tankers.

The red & whisker livery of the South African Railways / Suid Afrikaanse Spoorwee collection. Getting harder to find examples of this fantastic and much loved livery still in service!
