| I'm sorry now I'd didn't concentrate more of my photographic efforts trackside on the CP/D&H during the CP MLW era when living in Mass. By the time I relocated to NY State the lovable red beasts were largely on their waning days in solid sets. One memorable catch was this #556 pulling into Balston Spa with a wild 5 unit RS-18/C424/M636/C424/RS-18 set all elephant style on a May afternoon. At the time both the #556 southbound and #555 northbound could be counted on having solid MLW lashups at least three times a week mixed occasionally with the EMD leasers. It was truely Alco heaven to be trackside for any fan lucky enough to be able to chase lashups like these on the scenic D&H between Montreal and Binghamton. |
