Amtrak Pacific Surfliner #583 (San Diego to Los Angeles) arrived at Santa Ana, California, 45 minutes late on January 15th, 2013. But, since I wasn't a passenger, I didn't mind as it arrived as the sunset was fading, making for a shot that is better than if it had been on time! As the Surfliner's regular F59PHIs are cycled through Amtrak's Beech Grove Shops for heavy maintenance, a few P42DCs are filling in, such as number 91 on train 583.
