LS&I had a fair amount of RS-3's to start with, but over the years they were replaced with more sure footed RSD12's,RSD15's,U25C's and U23C's. Finally by the mid 70's most all the RS3's were gone except for the one assigned to the Munising job and another that was kept for spare parts and was slowly rotting away at Eagle Mills. This shot of 1610 from my collection(no photographer listed) shows the RS3's as used in ore service near the end of there LS&I career.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A collection of engines, cabooses, cars, etc., great and small that are past their prime, but represent a spirit of railroading that will never pass away!!
