| Soo train 11 with 4230 and ex KCS 626 are nearing Trout Lake with 43 cars. The 4230 was renumbered away from the Soo 550 series to avoid conflicts with Ex Milwaukee SD10 rebuilds, most of which were sold soon after the Soo's purchase of the Milwaukee. The Ex KCS SD was not yet equipped for lead service missing the radio and a few other useful items(seats on the fireman's side for one)so it ended up trailing the elderly GP-9. Snow in April in Upper Michigan is common but generally not much appreciated by the local residents. |
