This rare Union Pacific 120-ton steam derrick is preserved at the Utah State Railroad Museum in Ogden, Utah. No. 903037 was built by the Industrial Works as UP derrick 02781, and donated to the museum upon retirement in 1978. Of greater interest (at least to me) is Oregon Short Line tender 902207, mated to the derrick since the 1960s. It was built in 1923 and was assigned at one time to Union Pacific (OSL) 4-6-2 3129.
A collection of engines, cabooses, cars, etc., great and small that are past their prime, but represent a spirit of railroading that will never pass away!!
