| The snow-capped and graceful lines of Pen-y-ghent, Yorkshire's third highest peak at 2277 feet adorn the horizon high above Ribblesdale. Far below, 'Union of South Africa' thunders past the region's characteristic dry stone walls as she maintainis as much speed as possible on the tough ascent to the summit of the Settle & Carlisle route at Ais Gill. |
