After pulling north into Kansas City earlier in the day, the KCS 1 is seen pulling south towards Pittsburg, KS near the tiny town of Amsterdam, MO. While not exactly mountainous, this area has certainly proven difficult for engineers since its inception due to the hills that are quite evident here.
