There isn't much here to give away the year as 2013 rather than 1948, other than the Santa Fe logo and safety slogan on the turntable being a bit too worn. Santa Fe 3751 takes a spin on the turntable at Amtrak's Redondo Junction locomotive facility (which used to belong to Santa Fe, complete with a roundhouse). The 1927 product of Baldwin Locomotive Works has just completed a run from San Bernardino to Los Angeles, and once the engine rolls off the turntable onto one of the whisker tracks, it will be home again, and the fire dropped. But in just two short weeks, the engine will be fired up again in order to make an appearance at L.A.'s Union Station for National Train Day on May 11th.
