Remarks & Notes

The class 19E dual voltage (3kV DC / 25kV AC) Co-Co electrics are one of the newest classes to enter service on Transnet Freight Rail in the last three years. Six 19E's are seen working a 200 wagon coal train east of Ermelo on the 25kV AC portion of the CoalLink line, headed for the port of Richards Bay. The train has just exited the Over-Vaal tunnel which bores through the hill in the background and is easing down the grade towards Sheepmoor.
