After making a late evening trek along the secluded New River Gorge, eastbound loads for Hinton silhouette the eastbound absolute signal at C&O's CW Cabin as they approach the west end of the former Hinton Lower Yard. As signal suspension projects march onward, pure C&O scenes such as this one are growing few and far between. After a quick recrew at the small Hinton yard, this eastbound drag will begin its eastward assault over Alleghany grade, enroute to Newport News for export.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
