One year ago today, ALTO Tower was closed at 8 A.M. on June 16th, 2012, after nearly 100 years of service. In this photo, one of four cranes is seen getting into position to lift the eastbound ALTO signal bridge. NS 24W was among the first trains to accept the new CP ALTOONA signals. As of June 16th, 2013, to my knowledge, there is still no concrete plan on what will be done with ALTO Tower.
