Humidity and instability in the atmosphere has resulted in the brewing of severe thunderstorms over the eastern panhandle of West Virginia near Harpers Ferry. Partly cloudy skies and a near full moon attempt to illuminate the valley as a thunderhead with an impressive lightning show builds to the east.
