Remarks & Notes
Track layer RL3 is ready to return to work in the Bloomhill bogs of Co. Offaly. The extra-wide tracks on the crane are necessary to distribute its weight and prevent it from sinking into the bog... which still sometimes happens anyway. At left, our tour guide Michael (in the green vest) approaches the mess van where the track crew is just finishing their morning tea; soon, LM296 will be shoving the train of track panels out onto the bog to extend the loading spur.
