High Ball at Stony Creek. David Kloke's Leviathan 63 is running the track speed of 25 mph as she runs past the driving range at the 1000 Acres Ranch and Resort in little Stony Creek, New York. The, heavy, 1928-vintage, 6-axle, steel coach that she's hauling in this photo is far larger and heavier than the cars that an engine of this size and type typically pulled in the late 1860s and 1870s. Back then, virtually all railroad rolling stock was much smaller and the car bodies were primarily made of wood. The sight of the brightly painted American Standard with the massive yellow coach behind her at this event reminded me of 1960s photos of the Western & Atlantic "General", hauling the large "Jim Crow" combine during her Civil War Centennial Tour.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
