The Chicago, IL, to Huron, SD, freight pulls south towards the spring switch on the south side of Mankato and back to home rails. The CP operates over the UP Mankato Sub for around 6 miles to get from the north side of Mankato to the south side of Mankato. This trackage rights date back to 1986 when the DM&E gained trackage rights from then CNW.
