Bringing up the rear on a Southern Pacific eastbound freight at West Colton Yard in Bloomington, California, on January 20th, 1984, are a pair of bay-window cabooses: SP C-40-4 (rebuilt) caboose 4061 and Milwaukee Road 992158. In the nearly 30 years since this photo was taken, both the SP and MILW are gone, cabooses themselves are a thing of the past ... and a gallon of Shell gasoline for $107.9 is a memory!
