Remarks & Notes
Brand new Motive Power Industries (MPI) MP33C locomotive CM3301 leads UGL/GE units CF4411 and CF4412 through Cowan, upon completion of a load trial up Cowan Bank from Hawkesbury River and Gosford. In addition to the two GE units, the loading unusually consists of just over 20 vintage passenger vehicles on loan to the exercise from the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS) Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Division in Canberra. Although a second test run up Cowan Bank was originally scheduled, late running forced this to be cancelled, and following its arrival in Cowan the train continued south through Sydney and on to Canberra. CM3301 is the first of an eventual 16 CM Class locomotives that are being constructed for CFCLA by MPI in Boise, Idaho, They are based on the MP27/MP33/MP33C locomotives MPI previously built for the CBH Group in Western Australia during 2012.
