| Amtrak 90 sits on the house track in Lincoln after being damaged in a fatal grade crossing accident involving a flatbed semi on the previous day while leading the eastbound Empire Builder. The collision was violent enough to cause this much damage as well as hospitalize several passengers. I debated a while about whether to share this image or not. I'm not usually one to put much stock in "shock value." My hope is that maybe someone will look at this and decide to be more cautious at grade crossings. The engineer as well as the family of the truck driver are in my thoughts and prayers. Please be safe out there! |
