| A sad sight at Villupuram: YDM4s were being loaded onto flatcars, probably for Golden Rock. Metre gauge services had recently ended between Tambaram and Villupuram, but it took many months for the metre gauge locos to be removed.
Ironically, the WDS6 seen here is powered by the same power unit as used in a YDM4 - those locos which can be seen on the flatcars in the background. YDM4s are now being recycled into "new" WDS6's using WDM2 style body shells. |
