| These empty picnic benches are a sign of the times at the Salton Sea (at left) visitors area. The Salton Sea is California's largest lake and is the result of a flood in 1905. What was once thought to be the weekend getaway decades ago is now a wildlife refuge that parallels Union Pacific's Yuma Subdivision. www.alexramosphoto.com |
