| After waiting at the Hoffman signal tower for a Canadian Pacific switch job to shove back into the St. Paul yard, the eastbound Empire Builder crosses over and proceeds towards the CP River Subdivision. The Empire Builder departed 1 hour 50 minutes late, which despite being late is better relatively than its tendency to be at least three or four hours late through Minnesota. |
