Nearly a year has passed since this photo was captured at the time of this upload, and much has changed since then: The pair of GP38-2's on the Chamblee to Flowery Branch local are now retired and have been returned to lessor First Union Rail. Also, the Southern Railway-era signal bridge now has replacement masts up and turned, but disputes with the FCC and Native American nations has brought the PTC signal replacement project to a halt. In due time, more progress will be made, and changes will continue on the Piedmont.
