Southern 630 rolls over Knox Creek and County Route 2059, which is actually built on the old ROW of the original narrow gauge Big Sandy & Cumberland RR. The railroad was founded and built by Ritter Lumber to timber the virgin forests along Knox Creek and surrounding watersheds. At one time, the US government entertained damming Knox Creek for flood control along the mighty Tug River, but nothing ever came of it...
