Exactly on the date, but 58 years later, the classic 6000 HP Gotthard locomotive Ae 6/6 # 11407 "Aargau" made her second "maiden run", brought back mainly in the delivery state from 1956, with a long 10 car train from Brugg (AG) via Wohlen-Arth Goldau and the Gotthard line to Locarno, where she was pictured "under a palm tree". On 24 th may 1956, the locomotive was baptised on the name of canton "Aargau" and made a journey with over 1000 invited school children in the Ticino to Cadenazzo. The locomotive is owned by SBB Historic today, but long term loaned to the Association "Mikado 1244" in Brugg (AG), where all the work was done to the today glory.
