In a fairly rare move, a BNSF grain shuttle is under the control of an Ottertail Valley Railroad crew as it begins its ascent out of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. After getting off the main back in town, the train will encounter a pretty considerable grade before arriving at its destination at the elevator in the non-incorporated town of French. This line is former Northern Pacific and ran from Wadena, MN to Oakes, ND via Fergus Falls and Breckenridge. The only section left now is from the Hoot Lake power plant to just east of Foxhome, MN.
