Snow, snow, and more snow.
Exiting one of several snow squalls to blanket the Tri-State Area ahead of a massive polar vortex, westbound hotshot intermodal 233 with a grand total of five cars in tow crosses the 101-year old Ohio River Bridge between the towns of Kenova, WV and South Point, OH.
Going on 102 years old next month, the 4,000 foot double track bridge has seen dozens of trains per day, floods, severe storms, and of course numerous snow storms such as the most recent one (Octavia) in it's lifespan. Evident of it's age is the marks on the bridge where repair work will be made to extend the life of this vital connection of the former N&W mainline between Williamson and Portsmouth.
