Remarks & Notes

These motors are used to running huge trains on CN and they were put to the test on NS's mountainous East End District. After picking up racks at Honda in Lincoln, AL, the train was 50 tons below the timetable rating.

Having moved out of Michigan in 2000, a few years before the BCOL/CN merger, I had never shot a true BC Rail unit. Due to a severe motive power shortage on NS, I was able to photograph all three remaining models in the span of 4 months!
