| Simpson's log trains do not currently run the 10 miles to Mill 5 with waterwood. Instead, logs are moved a few hundred yards from the dock and off-loaded at a cold deck area next to the sawmill downtown. A small loader is breaking banding from around the loads before a larger machine finishes the unloading chore. Recently, a party has expressed a keen interest in purchasing the mills and railroad and the speculation is leaning towards the resumption of mainline service in the near future. |
