Remarks & Notes
An Interstate Railroad track gang is laying some new ties on one of the yard tracks at Andover, VA in September 1969. The cabooses in the distance are interesting. Besides a Southern bay window cab, there's an ex-Lackawanna Interstate caboose, another built from scratch at Andover, and a wooden Central of Georgia cupola cab. Notice the "Big Red" 100-ton coal hopper on the right.
