The Washington County Railway in central Vermont operating under the Vermont Rail System umbrella has been hauling granite from the Rock of Ages Quarry down to the NECR interchange at Montpelier Jct. The power assigned to the operation consists of Green Mountain railway's GP9r #804 and the leased Natchez Railway unit #2601 which finds itself a long way from its home rails in Mississippi. The pair are seen under a stormy sunset resting after a days work on the mountain at the retired depot in Barre.
