Remarks & Notes
Pan view of "George Hart's engine," lettered for the "Philadelphia & Reading," westbound on an excursion from Jim Thorpe to the high bridge at Hometown. Mr. Hart, the late founding director of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, relocated his excursion operation (Rail Tours, Inc.) to Jim Thorpe in 1971. The 972 was built in 1912 by the Montreal Locomotive Works.
