Remarks & Notes
The CR 4861 East and a yellow-striped sister fly high above the Susquehanna River on the way to Parkesburg and beyond. Safe Harbor dam is seen in the lower left, almost 150 feet below the rails of the old PRR Atglen & Susquehanna Branch. Today, the rails and trolley wire are gone, but you can hike and bike on either side of the bridge. The long-term goal is to open the bridge to trail-users, possibly by 2017. The 4861 was built by PRR/GE in December, 1937.
