| Sunday 25th of October 2015 was a historic day for Victorian steam preservation, with an A2 class taking to the mainline for the first time in over 50 years. Nearing the end of a lengthy restoration by Steamrail Victoria volunteers, A2 986 performed her first mainline test run on the goods lines between Newport and Sunshine. The loco is still in grey undercoat and awaiting finishing touches such as smoke deflectors, and ran in the company of diesel T395. |
