Remarks & Notes
The CR 4457, in its last year of operation, leads a manifest freight around the curve along River Road. 4457 was originally built by GE for the PRR in April, 1963 as a 4,400 hp Class E44 and was one of 22 units later rebuilt to 5,000 hp, Class E44A (nos. 4438-4459.) The rebuilt No. 4457 weighed in at 188 tons. One E44 is preserved in its original PRR colors at the RR Museum of PA in Strasburg; last of its class, No. 4465.
