Remarks & Notes
A crumpled Penn Central boxcar is being transported without its trucks atop a flatcar, perhaps on its way to the Sam Rea Shops in Hollidaysburg. I think this might be a PC class X43F boxcar, rebuilt from an old New York Central car. Coupled to the flatcar is the 2nd E44 built, No. 4401, manufactured by GE for the PRR in January, 1961. The old PRR station in the right background at Front & Walnut Streets was built in 1877, and still stands today.
