Remarks & Notes
This line is no more!

Further to the catastrophic rains and flash floods in March 2015, much of the line was destroyed. I copy-paste information from Mel Turner who is a knowledgeable expert of North Chile railroads:
"CODELCO has decided to truck to and from the Potrerillos smelter.
Chanaral-Diego de Almagro-Potrerillos railway will not be rebuilt. Roughly 40 km of track in the river valley down to Chanaral simply disappeared in the March flood, same with the line east of Llanta where it clings to the cliff face, kilometres of the ledge originally dug out for the line were removed by water cascading down the mountain sides."
