Amtrak ran their annual Leavenworth Snow Train on Saturdays in December. The final installment is about 3 miles west of Leavenworth kicking up a fresh blanket of snow. In addition to Horizon and Amfleet cars, the train featured a former California Zephyr dome car and dome observation. The train originated at King St. Station, Seattle, making the round trip over Stevens Pass in daylight eastbound, with a mid-evening return from Leavenworth.
