MNZX 787 (F7A) has sure had an interesting career. Recently saved from the scrappers, she was moved from Minnesota to Colorado and will run again with the San Luis Rio Grande. 787 was built in 1953 for the Spokane Portland & Seattle Railroad and was bounced around to the Burlington Northern, Colorado Eastern and the Cadillac & Lake City Railroad, which was a Michigan short line that for a while had the contract to run part of the Rock Island route to Colorado. Who knew that some 62 years after her construction she would be roaming the rails of Colorado again, albeit with some assistance of a block and tackle on a flatbed.
