| On a splendid long summer say there is plenty of light for shooting photos of the nightly freight trains. Here on Saturday afternoon a monster Anchorage to Fairbanks freight 130N is seen crossing the Matanuska River with the nearly 6000 ft Twin Peaks of the Chugach Mountains rise dramatically beyond. The train was lead by 4 units with another mid train DPU trailing a total of 63 tanks and 90 trailers 11,125 tons 8772 ft.
And, as an extra special note this was my good friend and fellow RP.net contributor Frank Keller's wedding day. So after a beautiful ceremony and dinner the groom and his new bride headed out trackside for some photos. I'm so grateful I got to share in the moment. Thanks! |
