Charging west on the main line with a clear block, a Union Pacific coal train heads for the Front Range mountains at Leyden, Colorado, on April 27, 2001. Now that the lead Southern Pacific AC4400CW has cleared its throat, the trailing SP GEs smoke it up too. At this point of time on UP’s former Rio Grande Moffat Tunnel Subdivision, UP power could still be the minority.
